Cheechee Cooks: Quick and Tasty Sardine Sauce

Wednesday, February 11, 2015

Kedu ndi bem!!(greetings my people)..Im sorry but are you one of those people that thought i was done with food posts? Im not going anywhere with this o!The cheechee cooks segment is still on,im only just lazy many times to take photos or i hardly ever remember. So this particular meal is what i will call an emergency meal. You know those times when you're thinking of what to make for dinner and you come up with some very serious delicacy that requires going to the market especially if you live in an area like mine where things like fish, chicken, beef are not readily available and if its too late to go out you have to stick to cooking with what you can find around. That was how i came up with this sauce.Im a sauce/stew/soup person by the way.
Im that person that has more soup than swallow, drinks more stew than rice etc..you get?Anyway, this meal is very tasty, very affordable, quick to make and you can still customize to your taste and pocket if you so wish.Lets get into ingredients used.

INGREDIENTS
A tin of sardine
Tomatoes and Pepper-Atarodo(qty you desire)
Garlic and Ginger powder
Onions
Vegetable oil
Maggi chicken
Salt
Curry
Ugwu(spinach)
Crayfish

STEP BY STEP IN PICTURES
HERE I HAD CUT UP THE ONIONS,TOMATOES AND PEPPER

THE INGREDIENTS

I USED VERY LITTLE VEGETABLE OIL BECAUSE OF THE OIL IN THE SARDINE

IVE BEEN USING THIS FOR ALMOST ALL MY MEALS..I BOUGHT THE POWDER FROM AN ABOKI IN THE MARKET AND IT SMELLS SO BEAUTIFUL AND NATURAL.I FILLED MY SPICE SUPREME CONTAINER WITH THE ABOKIS GROUND GINGER POWDER.

i mashed my sardines

FIRST THING I DID WAS TO FRY THE ONIONS IN HOT VEGETABLE OIL TILL IT WAS ABOUT TO GET BROWN

I POURED IN MY TOMATOES AND PEPPER AND ALSO PUT MY MAGGI,PEPPER,GARLIC AND GINGER,SALT,VERY LITTLE CRAYFISH BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO MASK THE TASTE OF THE SARDINE.

HERE I HAD LEFT IN ON THE FIRE UNDER VERY LOW LIGHT FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES
I PUT IN MY MASHED SARDINES NEXT AND STIRRED

MY UGWU WENT IN LAST AND I COOKED IT WITH STEAM (I PUT VERY SMALL JUST TO GIVE IT COLOUR)

FOOD IS READY.I SERVED WITH YAM.COME AND EAT!
Do you enjoy sauces like i do? and will you be trying this anytime soon?
Thanks for checking in..LOVE..
