4 common makeup mistakes Nigerian women make

Wednesday, February 11, 2015

Hello my people, have i been gone long?..Im still very much around and i have a lot of posts in my draft to complete and publish but anyway i thought id do this post cos my eyes get sour whenever im on the road or go to the mall and im not doing this to mock,im doing this so people who dont know will get it right. Not everyone is going to ever be a makeup guru *life is like that* but i feel like the basics should be done right..
So i just cut this down to 4 because they are the most common..
My take on makeup is not just about being artistic or buying the most expensive products which this might amaze you but some people feel because they can afford to buy all the high end products that it means their makeup should be on serious "fleek".Honey!!noo it doesn't work that way .Understanding your facial features is important, knowing how to play up or tone down those features is a key thing.

First off, lets talk 1.WRONGLY PLACED BROWS..This image is a simple explanation on where your brow should start, the position of your arch and where your brow should end and it all has to do with your nose.

SOME BROWS ARE SO LONG YOU LOOK AT THE FACE AND WONDER WHATS WRONG OR MISSING..LIKE THE PICTURE  CLEARLY DEPICTS,YOUR BROW SHOULD START WHERE THAT BRUSH RESTS ON.
2. ASHY NON-DEFINED NUDE LIPS
I see this a lot and its ok to wear nude lipstick but the idea is to show your features clearly so your face doesn't appear flat.Define your lips with a brown pencil preferably one close to the shade of your skin.If you are fair go with a light brown pencil so you don't change the colour of your lipstick completely. If you are dark you might choose to go with a dark brown or a light brown pencil depending on the look you want.
HERE I'M WEARING THE SAME LIPSTICK THAT LOOKED ASHY  BUT I LINED WITH A DARK BROWN PENCIL AND BLENDED THE LINE WELL INTO MY LIPS SO I DON'T HAVE ANY HARSH AND OBVIOUS LINE.

3. PASTED ON BLUSH
You might think do people still wear blushes like this.Yes they do.This can be very much allowed if you're costuming as a clown or something else but if your aim is to be pretty please don't do this.Always blend your blush into your hairline so it has a natural finish and appears as seamless as possible.

4. MASKY FOUNDATION
Blending is key in makeup.Everything should be seamlessly blended in that you can't tell the beginning from the end except in special occasions like cut creases, runway looks, photography purposes etc.Use a dense flat top or rounded brush to blend in your foundation or powder into your hairline preferably before you use your edge control or do whatever you do to your edges.
Share with your friends so we can all have good eye days whenever we are out and about.lol!

  5. Wow. Insightful and impressive post. I don't know, but your foundation looks like...I'm not sure exactly but it doesn't look particularly natural. Idk if its the light. I love this post and the nude lip tip is on point.
