Get rid of Greasy Makeup on your Brushes:Pictures

Sunday, January 04, 2015

Great News for my makeup lovers! There's nothing as annoying as buying pretty makeup brushes especially those ones with nice tints on the bristles.I own a set of kabuki brushes with a sort of blueish tint and as much as you don't notice the tint when they are dirty i want to see it when its clean which is most times because i hardly keep dirty brushes. If you are a makeup artist you don't want to go on a job and have to display brushes that look like they are partly washed or may even look to your client(s) as unwashed. So here is my solution.. *drum roll*

I have tried so many times to use extra virgin olive oil(the one we take to church for anointing services).I'm saying this because so many people post solutions and say to use olive oil and it works for them.I do not know if the olive oil here is any different from the ones used outside Nigeria but it never worked for me.The hardest product to get out of brushes is cream products and i use the black opal stick foundation sometimes on myself or on others and i was never able to get the stains out till i tried this..

I just decided that since extra virgin olive oil din't work i was going to try some other type of oil and it worked..
pardon my horrible lines..just to show what i used each brush for..
I  USE VEGETABLE OIL AND A SHAMPOO THAT ALSO CONDITIONS

A TABLE SPOON OF VEGETABLE OIL IS ALL I USED.YOU CAN USE LESS IF YOU WISH AS LONG AS IT GOES ALL OVER YOUR BRISTLES.

HERE I HAVE PUT A LITTLE OF MY SHAMPOO AND THE TABLE SPOON OF OIL IN A BOWL(NO WATER)

I SWIRL THE BRUSHES IN IT CONTINUOUSLY AND THERE AND THEN YOU SEE THE PRODUCT COME OUT.

YOU WILL NEED TO CONTINUE TO RUB ON YOUR PALM AND USE YOUR FINGERS TO RUB SO YOU GET EVERYTHING OUT COMPLETELY ESPECIALLY FROM THE BODY OF THE BRISTLES AND NOT JUST THE TIPS.

IN A FEW SECONDS EVERYTHING IS GONE.

ABOUT TO RINSE. P.S:Im holding upright for picture purposes. They should be held in a downward position so that water doesn't weaken the glue holding the bristles in place

she photobombed..

Hope you'll try this out..
